Increase Lompoc's Fire Response Capacity

Wages for firefighters and safety personnel are often lower in small rural communities, like Lompoc, making it difficult to hire and retain staff and maintain moral. This can be a barrier to adequate fire response. This project would include an assessment of fire fighter wages, establishment of competitive compensation and identification of pathways for funding such as a bond, sales tax measure or other mechanism.
