Lompoc Wildfire and Climate Adaptation Project Prioritization
About
The Lompoc Wildfire and Climate Adaptation Project Prioritization will assist the Lompoc community in becoming more resilient in the face of climate related challenges such as wildfire threats, water resources, and extreme heat. The project will support the health and strength of the community by listening, exchanging knowledge, and creating a shared vision for projects that will proactively address different challenges the region faces.
The Santa Barbara County Wildfire Resilience Collaborative (WRC) will work with key community leaders and organizations to identify current and planned initiatives and opportunities to reduce wildfire risk and improve community resilience in the City of Lompoc and surrounding unincorporated areas. The WRC will then invite the community to prioritize these projects and add them to the Regional Priority Plan for Santa Barbara County. This will provide a formal path to potential funding and implementation.

This project is part of the larger Guadalupe-Lompoc Climate Action Initiative (GLI), a multi-year collaborative effort to support organizations and agencies across the region with capacity building, planning, project development, and community engagement so they can address wildfire risk, air quality, extreme heat, water resources, and food security.
