Firewise Designation in Lompoc Neighborhoods through HOAs

Firewise communities have become an important way to galvanize neighborhoods around the need to protect their homes and neighborhoods from the threats of catastrophic wildfires. The Santa Barbara Fire Safe Council has been successfully soliciting numerous areas within Santa Barbara County to participate in becoming "Firewise" designated. Lompoc neighborhoods and associated HOAs would benefit from receiving such a designation. This is a great opportunity to expand outreach and capacity building for Firewise in North County, particularly in underserved areas in Lompoc.

Scope: Identify potential HOAs that could be approached and coordinate efforts to connect them with the Santa Barbara Fire Safe Council to begin the process.
