Fortify Critical Water Storage Access at Miguelito Canyon Bridge

The Lompoc Fire Department has a robust water delivery system for firefighting, which pulls water from wells, plus 4 storage tanks located throughout the region. This water system is fairly secure, except in rare fires such as Miguelito Canyon Fire where a critical water storage tank was threatened. Regular vegetation clearing and management is needed around this water tank to protect the water storage infrastructure. Additionally, access to this key water storage tank is across the Miguelito Canyon Bridge, which is badly compromised and needs replacement/repair. This project would assess the cost and permitting needs to replace this key infrastructure to ensure access to water supply for firefighting.
