Develop Water Sharing MOUs to Create Redundancy for Firefighting Water Supply

There is only one major water facility in Lompoc where all water supply is controlled for the City. If this facility were disrupted or damaged in a major incident, it could be difficult to access/distribute water for firefighting or domestic needs. The City does have a mutual aid agreement in place between the City, VSFB, County Fire and other water agencies for large scale events. However, the City Fire Department would like to further explore creating a water sharing program with Mission Hills Community Water District, Vandenberg Village Water Dist. and VSFB through service contracts to ensure redundancy in the water supply.
