Create a Community Benefit Institute for Regional Landscape Support for Workforce and Fire-related Training

The creation of a regional non-profit for learning opportunities that could also support workforce development is a project that would create community and enhance landowner partnerships.

Project Scope: Creation of a non-profit, or collabortion with existing nonprofit, that would allow large landowners to qualify for grant opportunities that are currently unavailable to them. The non-profit could support teachings on topics such as TREX trainings, home hardening, ecological restoration for fire benefit, and cultural burn education.

Partners: Allan Hancock College, Lompoc Adult School and Career Center, Santa Barbara County Workforce Development Board, Large Landowners in the Region
